Getting to Know Annabelle

This is part of Elisabeth Mueller's blogfest. If you have some time and want to see the other participants entries go HERE.

WARNING: This post is not funny. I actually thought about my MC like the blogfest required and she's rather straightforward. For those who came to my blog to laugh, please skip to the bottom and I will tell you a joke :)

If I were to put the main character of my current middle grade novel on the therapist couch, the conversation might go like this.

What is your greatest fear?

My greatest fear is being alone...errrr, perhaps I should say my greatest fear is being brutally murdered. No, alone would be longer and more torturous. I say, being alone. I do not have the luxury of family and for my own protection I make it a point not to get close to anyone. Living this way is getting tiresome. I pray that I do not have to live the rest of my life like this.

What is your biggest accomplishment?

I WALKED from Waise to Trestirie, a journey of nearly two months. WALKED! I gained a great sense of what I was capable of on that trek. I never before had to do anything nearly so arduous before and never had my mettle tested like that. But I did it and I found that my mettle is strong.

What is your biggest regret?

That I put my life and the lives of others in danger when I left the safety of the palace for a little adventure. I was ignorant of the powers that sought my life but I knew that I was disobeying direct orders when I left. It was a selfish decision and I wish that I would have been more wise.

For those who are blogfest happy, consider joining my blogfest :)

Now for the joke:
I think that animal testing is an awful idea; you can't get them to bring their #2 pencils and they're terrible with scantrons. *rim shot*

  7. I'm definitely intrigued as to her story. Sounds like she is in a lot of danger, and I wonder why she can't return to the Palace. Great interview!

  8. Sorry everyone, I didn't mean to be so vague.
The book is a fairytale retelling (with a lot of liberties) -witches, fairies, princesses, you know the type.

Krispy thanks for joining the 'fest!
(I'm still jealous about the midnight Potter tix!)

  11. Hi,

Revealing interview! I had it in mind you were referring to romantic fantasy. That said, retelling/reworking a fairy tale fits the character.
