Yep, I'm thinking it's time for another installment.
Shall we, ladies?
Today's focus is on the BBC's
You can see these guys at about 1:17 of the video above.
Colin Morgan plays the blue-eyed Merlin
Bradley James, the heart throb Prince Arthur
Santiago Cabrera is the -isn't a knight, is a knight, isn't a knight- Lancelot
and as you can tell by the picture at the top there are plenty of other good looking guys in the show.
Have you seen Merlin, yet? What do you think about it?
Here are my two cents on the BBC's Merlin
*Fun
*Decently written stories
*Absurdly anachronistic dialogue
*My kids LOVE them
*It's Smallville for Arthurians. As you can tell, the characters are a bit younger than you usually see this story portrayed.
*It took me a little bit to get into them because I was having trouble getting past the 21st century characters and dialogue but once I let go of my historical notions I was able to really enjoy them. And I'm not the only one, Merlin is shooting it's 4th season.
Wanna watch a little for yourself?
Season 1 & 2 are available to stream for FREE on Hulu right now!
GUESS WHAT?
The next Hot Guys in Doublets will have a new video (and a hugely popular Scottish hottie), so stay tuned!
Ohh I like Merlin...Lancelot sure is hot...hehe or so is Arthur
ReplyDeleteI didn't really give it a shot since it seemed oriented toward younger audiences. I did like the short-lived series Camelot (on Starz) quite a lot.
ReplyDeleteMerlin is one of my favourite shows! I enjoy all the characters and costumes :)
ReplyDeleteOh, I've seen that video before. It rocks!
ReplyDeleteI have heard of the show though I don't watch it since I actually don't own a TV, but I may just be popping over to Hulu now!
ReplyDeleteAnd Santiago Cabrera? Drooooooooooool.....
Why haven't I seen this? Especially when there are hot guys involved? Plus I love this type of thing. I need to go to Hulu now to check out more. :)
ReplyDeleteYou can watch all seasons on Netflix. It has been in my queue for a while, I need to stop slacking and watch it. Thanks for the tip. This is the rough time period of my WIP so if I watch it that's like research...right?
ReplyDeleteLOVE THIS VIDEO! I started watching "Merlin" until NBC cancelled the series (grrr.....) and am excited to hear you can now watch it online. Thanks for sharing!!
ReplyDeleteP.S. If the "hugely popular Scottish hottie" in the next video is Gerard Butler, I am soooooo staying tuned!!!
My daughters and I love, love, love this show! Can't wait for the new season =)
ReplyDeleteHot Guys in Doublets is my new favorite blog feature ever.
ReplyDeleteWe have LOVED watching Merlin streaming on Netflix :)
ReplyDeleteAh, that video. Never. Gets. Old.

Oh, never even heard of this - you can tell how hip I am! Will have to check it out...
ReplyDeleteMy daughters loved this show. I always seemed to be busy when it was on. Maybe I should have paid more attention :-)
ReplyDeleteI get a kick out of Merlin. I love to watch it. And I have quite the crush on Lancelot.
ReplyDeleteMy sister, my friend, and I have been pretty into this since the first season. At first, we were like Oh, it's kind of cheesy but it's not bad and LOOK EYE CANDY! Then we were like, Actually, this is pretty decent. Haha. Excited for the new season!
ReplyDeleteAs a soldier in the writer campaign, I salute you.
ReplyDeleteIn Merlin, I liked how they made casting magic illegal. It added another level of interest. And the interactions between the title character and Arthur are amusing.
Best wishes on your writing.
Mm, I'm fan of this blog series! I've never seen Merlin, but I just might have to hope on over to Hulu.
ReplyDeleteAnd, um, hugely popular Scottish hottie? I'm dreaming David Tennant...Gerard Butler...crap, those are the only ones I know. Now I might also have to hunt down more Scottish hotties before your post comes out! :)
Oh, that Bradley James. That's the only reason why I watch Arthur. Actually, there are a few other reasons but I don't want to spoil anything for anybody.
ReplyDeleteHappy campaigning!
Yes! I LOVE this show so much -- once sat and watched six episodes in a row on a rainy afternoon. It's silly, campy, and fun, and I really adore seeing Antony Head as Uther. The dynamics between Arthur and Merlin are great, as well as the father-son relationship between Merlin and Gaius. All in all, it's a great show.
ReplyDeleteI'm happy to say that my friends introduced me to Merlin and I never looked back! Such a fun, adorable show. My only gripe is that I think the characterization of Morgana was rushed, but Merlin and Arthur and Gwen are just DIVINE.
ReplyDeleteI love Merlin! I'm so glad that it's still being made after the first season I was worried that was it.
ReplyDeleteOH lordy you have more of these videos? I LOVED IT! I want the entire film list so I can go watch all of these movies of the ones I don't recognize! oh please please!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely going to watch some merlin this weekend! I don't watch Tv much so I didn't even know this show existed! Thanks!
I second what Pabkins said. I need a list of movies and shows from that video so I can watch them all!
